Dental Imaging

Dental X-rays are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health.

Our department of diagnostic imaging provides  state-of-the-art 2-D and 3-D imaging systems for optimal patient experience. They are an essential ,preventative, and diagnostic tool that provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam.

Intraoral Digital X-Rays

Digital X-Rays produce significantly low radiation exposure (90% less radiation than conventional film X-rays) that’s why they are very safe to use.

Intra oral X-rays include periapical X-rays showing the full length of the tooth and root, and bitewing X-rays providing images of the upper and lower crowns of teeth with interproximal surfaces.

OPG/Cephalometric X-Rays

An OPG is a panoramic view x-ray of the upper and lower jaw, it demonstrates the number, position and growth of all teeth including those that have not yet erupted. It may also reveal problems in the Temporomandibular joint (TMJ), aid in orthodontic planning, help in  assessment of wisdom teeth and to give a general overview of the teeth and the bone supporting the teeth.

The Cephalometric X-ray is a unique tool, which enables the orthodontist to capture a complete radiographic image of the side of the face, provides information about “bad bites” or malocclusions, allow measurement of the teeth and assists in orthodontic planning.

3-D Cone Beamed Computed Tomography (CBCT)

The latest CBCT skyview provides incredible resolution 3D images and this technological advancement allows dentists to see your teeth, jaws, skull and diagnose any problems to provide more effective treatment. It has a short scan time and great resolution allowing for high accurate imaging and measures. With a single scan of a CBCT machine, dentists can see much more than a regular X-ray, they can see pathology, infections, tumors, nerves, bone quality and much more.
